Introduction to Harris Tweed

Where: Hebrides People Visitor Centre, Northton, Isle of Harris, HS3 3JA
Join independent Harris Tweed weaver Becca Hutton for an introduction to Harris Tweed weaving and heritage, followed by a live demonstration.

Events are planned to take place weekly from 20th April – 1st October 2026.
This event is held on a Thursday at 11am. Although we do not anticipate any changes, in the unlikely event that a talk needs to be amended or cancelled for operational reasons, we will share updates on our social media channels. To help us keep you informed, please add the date of your intended visit in the booking notes at the time of booking.
Any variances to the usual arrangements are listed below.
Thursday 30th April 2026 – Please note this talk will take place at the later time of 1pm due to the Shackleton Memorial service taking place at 11am.
Thursday 14th May 2026 – Please note that Becca is unavailable on this date, and the talk will instead be led by Mairi McCuish, who will be speaking on the subject of witch hunts.
